Dar Al-Hekma has enjoyed tremendous success with its varied undergraduate programs since it was founded in 1999. As a result, they decided to fulfill their preexisting vision of launching graduate programs, and started initiating their master’s programs one after the other under the three schools at the university.
The first master’s program was the master’s in business administration, which was launched back in the academic year 2011-2012. Six other master’s programs followed in the years to follow, covering several fields including law, education, engineering, design, and many more. Dar Al-Hekma cares about your career and life after graduation, that’s why the graduate programs they offer come with a wide-ranging curriculum, which gives students extensive knowledge in both theory and practice.
DAH graduates are highly sought after by leading employers in various sectors. Their employability rate and salaries are quite high. Most of these students have undergone master’s programs at DAH like the ones we’ll be discussing below.
Business
The master’s degree in business administration (MBA) is a two-year graduate program at Dar Al-Hekma that seeks to provide theoretical and practical training to help graduates master the art of business administration. The MBA degree exposes students to different business fields such as accounting and marketing with a focus on leadership, business strategy, organizational behavior, and human capital management. One of the other majors that the University offers in the same department is a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
The program’s mission revolves around graduating leaders armed with the knowledge, sharp skills, and values that help them do wonders in the field. Therefore, DAH has incorporated international business concepts and practices in their curriculum to further aid their student’s development and increase their chances of breaking into the job market. Additionally, students are equipped with key attributes of professional and ethical conduct through enhanced teaching of applied knowledge and skills in the areas of management.
International Relations
Dar Al-Hekma is the first university in Saudi Arabia to offer a master’s degree in the art of international relations (MAIR). This elaborate program sets up graduates for success as they ascend the ladder of diplomacy and international affairs. It’s a two-year program that includes nine main courses that intend to build a strong foundation for students in both the theory and practice of international relations. Furthermore, students can pursue three additional courses that navigate the foreign waters of international law and economics. There are also two elective free courses available that allow students access to the world of business and foreign policy.
Students who graduate with this degree emerge as capable individuals qualified enough to work in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, international law, and international business firms. The communication and leadership skills they obtain during the program can easily shape them into persuasive debaters who excel at their duties.
Architecture
The prestigious university of Dar Al-Hekma seeks to graduate students who will reshape the future with its master of architecture program. Dar Al-Hekma is fully aware of the major crises of our modern-day world, like negative climate change, pollution, and resource exhaustion to name a few. They also state that architecture, or generally the construction industry plays a part in the deterioration of the environment, but they strongly believe that architecture should evolve to respond effectively to these worldly unwanted changes. Sustainability-oriented architecture has proven its major role in mitigating environmental degradation and maintaining the livability of our built environments by employing adaptation strategies. In that light, DAH aims to reinforce the knowledge and skills of architectural professionals through the master of architecture program.
This program aims to educate architects on how to produce more sustainable bioclimatic architectural designs and to better optimize the ecological performance of buildings. Architects learn how to apply the principles and methods of bioclimatic architecture as well as the technical prowess needed to assess and optimize the performance of buildings in terms of energy and material consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and quality of indoor environments through the proper use of simulation software.
